As a new member of the Rihannsu Empire, you have a large number of options ahead of you. However, there are a few things you must do to get a good start to your career. If you haven't already done the following make sure to do them as soon as possible:

    @lock me=me
    @race me=Rihannsu
    @elock me=me
    @sex me=<your sex>
    @desc me=<a description of yourself that should give some
	      insight into your character's personality.>
Note that you need to set your race to Rihannsu, since the fact that the Rihannsu people are an extremely xenophobic race means any non-Rihannsu would not be tolerated. Rather than getting anywhere in the Empire, that player would probably be removed as a taint or inferior species walking among the chosen.

When you joined the Empire, you were @linked to your new home in the dorms and put onto the Rihannsu main +com channel. There are, however, a number of other things that you should do.

First, you need a communications implant. You can get one from the Implant Issuer in the dorm. Looking at the machine will tell you how to get an implant. Looking at the implant will tell you how to use it. Now that you have your implant, use it to join the Rihannsu Academy's channel. It is case sensitive, so watch out.

Second, read through the Phi'lasasam news system. Especially important is the syllabus group, which tells you what you'll need to do to graduate and what your career options and their requirements are. There's a lot of information here, but don't be intimidated by it. That's why we keep it online, so you can easily look stuff up anytime you need to.

Third, get started with your introductory courses. Finally, if you have any questions or problems, don't be afraid to ask someone, either on the main Rihannsu channel or the Phi'lasasam academy channel.

In order to graduate the Phi'lasasam, you will need to complete your basic training, followed by a rather difficult intermediate training, both as specified in the Phi'lasasam academy news. Once you have finished this training, and passed all the appropriate Phi'lasasam exams, you choose your career path and embark on a course of study to prepare you for your chosen profession during the advanced training period. The requirements for each of these training courses are discussed online in the Phi'lasasam syllabus. Here is a complete list of some of the majors/legions available for Eredhin:

  1. Bloodwing Legion - Service as an Erein aboard one of the vessels of the Rihannen'Galae.
  2. Tal Shiar - The Rihannsu intelligence organization.
  3. Kiith Mrevhoqq'ghi - The diplomatic service of the Empire.
Here is some information that will be very useful to you as a newbie to the Empire.

  1. MUSE help files contain a variety of items on coding and Phi'lasasam lectures contain much useful information on the Empire in general. It is recommended that you visit these valuable sources of information. Lectures are located on the academy grounds.
  2. As a student you have a home in the student barracks within the academy. This means that you are linked there, and whenever you type 'home' you will be automatically transported there. After graduating you must find a new home for yourself, either on the ship you are assigned to, should you join the Bloodwing Legion, or in various locations if you are in another Legion.
  3. The Empire also has another source of information that you might want to read. It is called RNews and has various postings on a variety of subjects. To see the topic list on RNews, simply type 'RNEWS HELP'.
  4. It is a good idea to join the IC life of the Empire by joining a house. A house is one of the many houses represented in the Empire. Each one has a different history and status, so make sure to look into all the houses before joining one.
  5. Finally, if you have any questions feel free to ask them to the Rihannsu online with you. They will in most cases be able to help and happy to do so.
