The d'Deridex-class Warbird is a massive Rihannsu spacecraft. These ships, significantly larger than a Galaxy-class starship (nearly twice the overall length), are believed to have greater firepower, but a slightly lower sustainable warp speed. These vessels utilize an artificial quantum singularity as a power source for its warp drive system, thus precluding the need for dilithium crystals to regulate the matter-antimatter reaction of standard warp cores.
Starfleet at one time designated these ships as B-Type Warbirds, the first Starfleet encounter with a d'Deridex class vessel being in 2364, when the Rihannsu crossed the Neutral Zone in response to attacks by the Borg.
